It was recently reported that the airline company British Airways has settled a legal claim following the major data breach of 2018.
Indeed, the data breach affected around 420,000 people, including customers and BA staff, and compromised their names, addresses, and payment details. The company was thus fined £20m over its failure to protect its customers.
This compensation claim has become the largest group-action personal-data claim in UK history. However, since the terms of the settlement are confidential, it is still unclear how many people will receive a payout.
The company has apologized to its customers and stated that it had acted promptly when the problem was first discovered.
