A recent study by Forrester revealed that many businesses are struggling with data overload.
Indeed, it was found out that 57% of businesses believe their organizations are data-driven, however, only 17% are actually prioritizing data’s use. Although some stated to need more data, the study showed that around 70% of businesses have more data than they can manage.
Moreover, 70% of respondents declared to be gathering data faster than they can actually analyze and use it. Hence, lots of organizations are not prioritizing data across the business. Besides, collecting data in a sensible place so as they can access it easily without copying it is still a challenge. The study showed that putting the data in a central location with direct connect capability to all of the public clouds is an approach that will grow in importance.
It was also found out that the data’s centre of gravity is shifting away from the data centre, data warehouse, and analytics databases, but more toward a networked ecosystem of data streams and the edge.
