The Data Challenge has recently invited civil servants to introduce their ideas to help the government make better use of data.
Indeed, the Data Challenge, which includes the Cabinet Office, the Office of National Statistics, Global Government Forum, and NTT DATA UK, has given volunteers the chance to develop projects that could find solutions for data challenges. The civil servants were firm a huge range of roles such as frontline, policy teams, operational teams, data scientists.
The idea was to put the best people from different teams together so they can work out the necessary solutions to the government’s problems and find how to make better use of data.
On Thursday, four teams of civil servants got picked for the final event and a chance of winning £50,000 of funding to bring their project to life. The judges chose to pick ideas that covered the topics of criminal justice, benefits, foreign affairs, and sustainability. By moving to the next stage of the challenge, the team will get the opportunity to further develop their ideas and projects.
