Developers held back by a lack of innovation

A new report from Rollbar revealed that many developers are keen to innovate and deploy new software but they are being held back by slow-moving quality assurance, a lack of skilled staff, and insufficient funding, among others.

Indeed, it was found out that one-quarter of developers deploy code into production every month or two, while another quarter is deploying code every two weeks. Yet, a majority of developers declared that slow innovation, budget limitations, and inaccurate project management are holding them back.

In order to improve this, 86% stated that a faster-moving innovation cycle would help boost their confidence and deploy faster, which would, in turn, lead to further innovation.

The report also showed that 40% believe that better error-fixing tools would help as well as having better project management, a bigger team, and more funding.
