GDS to have signed a two-year contract with AWS

It was recently announced that the Government Digital Service (GDS) has signed a two-year contract with Amazon Web Services worth £12m to continue using their cloud hosting services.

Indeed, the deal with AWS will then remain in place for the many digital products of the department. This new contract is more lengthy and holds more value than the previous hosting arrangement. With this deal, the department will be able to double its spending with AWS and guarantee the development and rollout of digital services for use by other government departments.

The contract is set to run until June 30 2023 after being implemented on July 1st, 2021.
