It was recently announced that a legal case has been launched against Google’s DeepMind following its use of NHS data and records.
Indeed, it was reported that around 1.9 million patients at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust had their confidential medical records obtained by Google and its AI firm DeepMind. The legal action was then launched in order to address public concerns about the use of private health data by tech firms.
The legal case is led by law firm Mishcon de Reya as there are great concerns over how the data is being used. It wants to uncover some answers about the handling of sensitive personal data and special category data.
