It was recently reported that Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells (MTW) NHS Trust is working on making inroads into improving its digital maturity.
Indeed, in order to enhance operational efficiency and patient outcomes through technology, the trust is continuing its digital transformation journey by running a pilot of consultations under a virtual outpatient department approach as well as running a virtual ward. It is aiming to transition from relying on paper patient records and legacy systems into main hospital sites with digitally seamless patient care.
The trust also introduced an electronic patient records (EPR) system, which went live in summer 2021. It helped provide electronic record capability for areas like the emergency department, order communications, pediatrics, outpatients, and all in-patient ward areas.
