A recent study by Dell revealed that most organizations don’t think they can recover from ransomware and cyber attacks, as these are quickly increasing over all industries.
Indeed, it was found out that 67% of the companies surveyed lack confidence in their ability to recover business-critical data while 82% believe that their existing data protection measures won’t be able to meet all future business needs. This is even more frightening as 30% have reported data loss and 45% have experienced unplanned downtime in the past year.
Despite the average organization managing 10 times more data than they did in 2016, 62% of respondents are concerned that their current data protection measures were insufficient to cope with existing malware and ransomware threats. It was revealed that the pandemic has driven the attack surface and that emerging technologies such as cloud-native apps, containers, and ML have increased data protection risks.
