I am a DevOps Professional with 6 years’ experience in both the public and private sector. I started my career following the apprenticeship route after realising university wasn’t for me. I’ve recently moved the Head of Technology Operations role at Delio based in Cardiff.

I have areas of expertise in automation, serverless, containers and multi-cloud, and work with a wide variety of different applications. I am passionate about the use and implementation of full end to end pipelines to enhance automation in a serverless environment. I manage a skilled team of 6 engineers over DevOps, DevSecOps and SRE disciplines including three associate engineers.

Challenges in Multi-cloud Migration

I will be discussing Delio’s journey to multi-cloud, and specifically the difficulties that we faced moving from solely an AWS application to one that worked concurrently on Azure and AWS. I will be outlining the benefits we’ve received from embracing a multi-cloud infrastructure, along with the architectural tradeoffs we have had to make to further grow our business from a Start-up into a global FinTech.

Finally, I will speak about how we manage deployments within my team, to ensure both environments are kept up to date at an infrastructure and application level.
