On Wednesday morning, a fire was declared in OVHcloud’s SBG2 data center in Strasbourg.
As a result, the SBG2 data center was completely destroyed and SBG1 was seriously damaged. Fortunately, SBG3 and SBG4 were protected in time by the firefighters, and no staff was harmed. Following this, the site remains off-limits and the data centers were not restarted immediately.
OVHcloud founder and chairman advised customers to activate disaster plans, as the site has been isolated, impacting all services in SBG1-4.
Besides, the fire happened two days only after OVHcloud announced it is taking the first steps toward an IPO.
