The UK government is currently looking for a new government chief digital officer (CDO) to replace Joanna Davinson, who is leaving soon.
Indeed, this role is the most senior digital, data and technology (DDaT) leader in the UK government and is responsible for shaping and delivering HM government’s digital, data and technology transformation to deliver better services for UK citizens. The CDO chief leads a team of 200 in the Central Digital and Data Office (CDDO) and needs to be personally approved by the prime minister.
Davinson was originally appointed as executive director of the CDO in January 2021 for 18 months to set up the new organisation. The CDO then tackles urgent problems in the government’s digital estate, such as the ongoing digital transformation of public services, legacy IT systems, and improving cyber security and digital skills across Whitehall.
