The US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is set to enhance and modernise its business applications, with over 70 enterprise applications.
Accenture Federal Services will be dependant on agile methodologies and DevOps practices, in order to meet the goals of the US$64 million contract. To help improve the apps, Transportation Security Administration will be using some core IT services, provided by AFS.
“This contract demonstrates the strong partnership between AFS and the TSA,” said Kate Abrey, who leads AFS’ work with the TSA.
“We provide agile support services across the US government for numerous other agencies, with wide-ranging missions. We’re pleased to be able to use this approach to help the TSA modernise its technology infrastructure, create value faster and respond more readily to change.”
An email stated that the contract has a “one-year base and three one-year options,” with the target to upgrade TSA apps, provide IT services and to help provide quicker value and responds.
Like other organisations, TSA battles to keep a healthy balance between efficiency and security; hopefully the agile approach with help TSA manage its systems better.
